Red Wing Heritage Is In

We are very excited to say that we now proudly carry Red Wing Heritage boots in the store!

These boots are just great, they have a rugged yet clean look to them, and no matter what you put them through, will look better with age.
They are made of high quality leather, triple stitched, and feature a goodyear welt construction.
In other words, they will last you a very long time.

Red Wing is usually the go-to name when it comes to work boots, but what is great about the boots we have selected is that they also serve for versatility.  Sure they're work boots, but wear these with some chinos or a good pair of raw denim and what you have is a stylish/workwear/streetwear look.
These colors can also go with practically any outfit from your wardrobe.

These are a very good buy, and will be one of the best boots to purchase.

We also carry Red Wing merino wool socks which are very soft but thick and durable.  Merino wool is moister absorbent so they help keep your feet dry.

A Closer Look..

6-Inch Moc Toe Boot

These are modeled after the original work boots that made Red Wing famous and feature a white Traction Tred sole.

6-Inch Iron Ranger Boot

These boots are built tough, designed for the iron miners that wore them.  This boot features a double leather toa cap, leather heel pocket and a Nitrile cork sole, nickel hard wear and speed hooks at the top of the boot to enable fast lacing.

Come into our shop and grab a pair before they're gone!

Generic Surplus Boots

At last we can say that Summer is starting to end as Fall is starting to begin.  This means a change in the wardrobe, turn in the bright colors and light weight cottons and linens and bring out the flannel and wool. With the colder weather approaching, you might be in the market for some new boots to add to your Fall/Winter wardrobe.

Well we are happy to say that we have a few boots from Generic Surplus that will work great for the upcoming season, and with three different styles to choose from, they will compliment any outfit you throw together from now until Spring.

Generic Surplus is a brand out of Los Angeles, CA and they provide us with shoes and boots that have what some may call a basic design, but what makes them stand out is that they effectively capture and reflect the essence of Los Angeles and Southern California.  Their footwear is something everyone should be a fan of because their design only compliments the wearer's personal style and works with their personal identity.

First we have the Ledger Mid Boot in an earth toned color.  This is probably the most versatile boot as it has a basic but "cool" look and go well with virtually any pant type or color. Raw denim, gray flannel trousers, olive corduroy trousers, chinos, you name it and it would be hard for these boots to not look good.

The Mojave Boot is a new style of boot that debuted for this upcoming fall season.  We have this boot in black and grey tweed, both of which has a contrasting stone colored outsole.
The black boot again is very versatile for Fall, and would go very well with any earth toned pants and/or outerwear you have on for the day.
The tweed boot is a personal favorite. When have you ever seen tweed on footwear?  Tweed is probably considered an essential fabric for fall and winter, and throw it on your footwear, and you will have the coolest boots in town.

Come check them out at HEART&SOLE before they are gone!

Stocked on Brixton and Kangol Wool Hats!

Hats have been part of a man's wardrobe for many, many years. The styles have obviously changed as you don't see men walking around town with top hats on anymore, but hats are still very common, nonetheless.

As Fall will be in full swing very shortly, and there will be cold and rainy days ahead, now is a good time to go get started on hat shopping.  We have received some great hats from Kangol and Brixton, and these brands have provided us with some very cool, classic styles.

From Kangol we have some hats from their heritage line. We have the Tweed Peebles, Tweed Bugatti, and Tweed Ripley caps, all of which are made with Italian craftsmanship as well as Italian fabrics, giving us a very high quality and long lasting piece of headwear. Each hat has it's own classic style that holds up to modern standards.

Also from Kangol is the iconic Wool 504 cap. This hat is comprised of a Kangol innovation with it's seamless, knitted, and blocked construction, and is also made of 100% wool. You really cannot go wrong with this hat for the cold weather.

Brixton provides us with some more classic but modern styles of hats.  We have their Brood and Hooligan hats in our shops, and what better hats to idolize that Americana style?  Again these hats are made with high quality craftsmanship and is sure to last you a very long time for many more Fall and Winter months to come.

Keep your head warm!

Clark's Desert Boot: The year 'round shoe

Men's wear is getting more diverse by the day, and it may be confusing trying to figure out what is stylish and what brands you need to have in your wardrobe.  But there is one word every guy should know, and that is "Clark's". And more specifically, "Clark's Desert Boot". Almost anyone will tell you that these boots should hold a firm spot in your wardrobe.  And we'll tell you why..

First a small history lesson.. Clark's started in 1825 in a small village in England with two brothers who had made a basic shoe that met the daily work's standards. These shoes were exceptionally comfortable and durable, and word spread quick, and the company grew from there.  In 1950 Clark's introduced the now classic Desert Boot, and they have stayed in style since then. The boots were and still are inspired from the crepe-soled boots worn by British officers in WWII. They are made with natural materials and provide extreme comfort and durability and of course, style.

It should be in every man's best interest to take good care of their shoes, and to regularly clean and polish them. But if you're going to pick up a pair Clark's Desert Boots, don't even worry about it. Why? Because these shoes will only get better with age. Put them on and wear them every where, every day, and they will receive their own personality according to your daily life.  Just like a pair of raw denim will contour and fade to your own body, so will these boots to your feet.  Another huge plus is that the boots can honestly go with any clothing item of any style. Try them on with worn and washed denim, raw denim, chinos, chords, linen or wool trousers, even shorts, and they will go perfectly with your outfit and the compliments will not stop.

These boots will remain in your wardrobe for a lifetime.

Brixton Menswear

With fall arriving closer and closer by the day, it's time for men to start looking into some head wear and outerwear, and thankfully we recently received some great products from Brixton.

Brixton was started by three friends who were influenced by music, culture, and their surroundings.   Their clothes come in limited supply, and all have their own modern yet classic look that is sure to appeal to gentlemen of any age and style.

First on the list are hats and beanies. Each hat has it's own modern design that is sure to get people looking your way.  We have snap back hats as well as the classic "newsboy" cap.  The hats all come in a variety of fabric and design, with trucker snap backs that have a camo front (camo is definitely
"In" right now), corduroy hats, and all sorts of plaid designs on the newsboy caps.

We also have wonderful and greatly knit beanies in all colors to go with whatever ensemble the day calls for. In fact there are so many awesome hats and beanies to choose from, you could have a different hat for each day of the week.

Next we have a couple pants to discuss.  On the left we have the Reserve Twill pants, which are a heavy cotton twill pant that has a straight and slim fit to them. Next to those are the Toil Chinos which also have a straight and slim fit to them, and both of these pants came in fall colors that will go great with any shirt and outerwear combo.

For outerwear we are carrying Brixton's Debaser and Rugger jackets.  Both of these jackets are something you will definitely want to pick up for your Fall and Winter wardrobe.

The Debaser has the all time classic hunter's jacket look, with four pockets with snap button closings on the front of the jacket. It has a tailored fit, so when it is put on it will fit the body well and won't look too boxy.

The Rugger is another great piece, because it features a thick padded work-wear vest with detachable soft cotton sleeves and hood. This is great in the chance the day heats up, or you feel like keeping people on their feet when they observe your outfit.

Come in and check out all these great items at a very reasonable price!!

M.G. Baker Co. Bow Ties and Why You Need Them.

Bow Ties are making a come back. Style is a constant rotating cycle, and things that were popular a few decades ago are becoming popular again. Self-tie bow ties are no exception.

It might be possible that the popular belief on bow ties is that they look silly, they're strictly black-tie attire, only old men wear them, etc. Matt Baker of M.G. Baker Co. helps to disillusion us from these silly connotations.  Mr. Baker has had a knack for creating and building things since he was an infant.  When he was in middle school he received a sewing machine and hasn't stopped using it since.  He created his company as a pursuit to share his lifelong passion of creating with others.

His first product on the market are these beautiful 100% cotton and vegan friendly bow ties.  In our opinion (and surely others will agree), M.G. Baker Co. bow ties are what will set you apart from the silk bow tie wearers of black tie affairs, or the goofy looking guy who wears a bow tie that looks out of place.

Since these ties are 100% cotton, they take on their own shape in the process of tying and being worn (don't worry, Mr. baker was kind enough to include illustrated instructions on how to tie a bow tie).  This is ideal because these won't have that perfectly tied and proportional look that all those pre-tied bow ties have.  When someone sees you wearing an M.G. Baker CO. tie, they'll know that you tied it yourself.  Bow ties will also go great with informal or smart casual to casual wear. Whatever color combination works best for you and your attire, it will add just the right amount of personality to your outfit and will help you stand out from the crowd.

These are great, high quality bow ties that should be a part of your wardrobe.

Summer Evenings with Woolrich

Summer is now in full swing, and you might be spending the day at the beach, inside the air conditioned office, or just lounging around the house; but it seems that the Summer time brings about most "outings" at night time. Some men may not admit it, and some might, but the question EVERYONE asks themselves before they go out is, "What am I gonna wear?"

Well we have a solution. We'll be looking at the very finely crafted brand that is made in here in the USA, Woolrich Woven Mills.  At our store we are carrying the Milestone Pant, which is a 100% cotton pant with a relaxed fit, and flat front. These are great for summer nights (or even during the day) because first and foremost they are cotton, they are light weight and will allow air flow so your legs don't burn up.  Roll up the legs on these and show off those vibrant, fancy socks, or go sock less and feel the breeze on your ankles with those deck shoes on.

Next we'll move on to Woolrich's Timberline shirt and Concourse shirt, both great shirts, both plaid, one long sleeve and the other short sleeve. The Concourse shirt is a long-sleeved shirt of 100% cotton (again, breathability!) and is wrinkle-free, which is great for daily wear. This shirt also features button tabs which allows you to roll up the sleeves and turn it into a short sleeve. If rolled up sleeves isn't your thing, then go with the Timberline shirt.  Short sleeve shirt made of Madras cotton, with a collar band made of chambray cotton.

Okay so you got your pants and shirt  on, you have your boat shoes or your canvas shoes on, but let's say you go down to the beach at night and it's chilly. That long sleeve Concourse shirt isn't doing the trick of keeping that cool breeze from giving you the chills. Now what? Well, Woolrich makes a GREAT sweater, the Mackinac Cardigan.  3 buttoned cargo pockets on the front, a great fit, and a comfortable 100% cotton garment makes a great sweater for any social occasion during the summer.  You can throw it on with your casual day wear, or throw it over a shirt and tie. It can go with anything and not only will you be  warm enough, but you'll look great at the same time!

Summer Essentials

Once again it's the summer time, and it's starting to get hot everywhere you go. You might find yourself in some areas that end up having cool summer nights, and other places where it's hot all 24 hours of the day.  Luckily, our stores have the appropriate attire for any destination this summer, and below we have some great products featured.

We'll start from the ground up..

Everyone knows summer footwear means canvas shoes, or boat shoes. Thanks to Tretorn (a shoe company hailing from the awesome country of Sweden) you have the Otto Canvas shoe. This is a lightweight canvas boat shoe that is also a sneaker, with a rubber mid- and out-sole, and Sweden's own Massage Teknology on the footbed that makes these shoes perfect for bare foot wear and ultimate comfort. The shoes also have apron stitching on the upper canvas, so they'll stick with you for many summers to come.  We carry these shoes in white and navy blue (again perfect summer shoe colors), and will go great with out Tailor Vintage reversible shorts.
Tailor Vintage is considered the holy grail of men's shorts, and considering their shorts are reversible with awesome fabric and designs on both sides..yeah, they can considered grail-ike.  What's great about these shorts is, as just mentioned, they are reversible, but roll up the legs to make a cuff and people can see what you're working with. Washed and worn for a great fit an look, we have shorts with seersucker and plaid paired with solid khaki on the reverse. What else do you need in a pair of shorts? Nothing. These scream summer with a huge sense of style.
Of course you don't want to have TOO many designs going on with your daily wear that it hurts the brain to look at and people think you got dressed in the dark. Good thing we have solid polo shirts of the same company to be added to your wardrobe and your hot summer day attire. Navy blue to go with the seersucker shorts, or olive green to go with the plaid, either shirt is a fine compliment to the shorts. Once again, summer means polo shirts. And these polo shirts can be used for brunch with the family, a casual day in the office, drinks with the boys, or a date with the lady  What's cool about these Tailor Vintage polos is the "flair", if you will. It has two stitched buttoned chest pockets and military style shoulder straps, and made with extremely comfortable cotton.

Take a step inside our shops and pick up these fine products to complete your summer wardrobe.
